Martinique Targets Cruise Growth With Seatrade Push for New Calls

Seatrade talks could bring new ship calls, stronger itineraries and fresh momentum for cruise growth.

Martinique is intensifying its push for cruise growth at Seatrade Cruise Global 2026, where tourism officials and industry partners are meeting with major cruise lines in a bid to secure future ship calls, expand itineraries, and strengthen visitor spending.

The four-day conference, Seatrade Cruise Global 2026, running April 13-16 at the Miami Beach Convention Center, is one of the cruise industry’s most influential annual events. For Caribbean destinations, the meetings can shape future schedules, route decisions, and tourism revenue for years ahead.

New Itinerary Talks Put Cruise Growth in Focus

The Martinique Tourism Authority is leading a delegation that includes Grand Port Maritime de la Martinique, Antilles Shipping Service, CHAUTRAM, and tour operators Beyond the Beach, Cœur des Îles, and Roger Albert Voyages.

Together, the group is promoting Martinique’s port capacity, shore excursions, cultural appeal, and coordinated tourism services as it competes for a larger share of regional cruise traffic.

Meetings were scheduled with executives and itinerary planners from Carnival Cruise Line, Explora Journeys, Orient Express, Princess Cruises, Royal Caribbean Group, Seabourn, TUI Cruises, and Virgin Voyages.

Those discussions are aimed at winning future sailings and ensuring Martinique remains included in evolving Caribbean cruise schedules.

Caribbean Competition Raises Stakes for Cruise Growth

Cruise tourism remains a major economic driver across the region, supporting transport providers, tour operators, restaurants, retailers, and hospitality workers. New calls or expanded schedules can generate significant business activity, while losing market share can affect jobs and local income.

That makes Seatrade especially important for destinations seeking to protect or expand their presence in a highly competitive Caribbean market.

On the final day of the conference, Martinique is also scheduled to participate in the Cruise Port Advisors Association’s “Meet the Itinerary Planners” session. Officials are expected to hold rapid meetings with additional cruise partners, including Atlas Ocean Voyages, Marella, MSC Cruises, Oceania Cruises, Regent Seven Seas Cruises, Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection, and Silversea Cruises.

Martinique Promotes Quality Visitor Experience

Hervé Bullot, director of development for the Martinique Tourism Authority, said the conference remains an important platform for strengthening relationships and advancing the island’s long-term cruise strategy.

He said Martinique already welcomes a broad range of vessels, from large ships to boutique and ultra-luxury segments, across Fort-de-France and anchorages around the island.

Officials say the destination’s focus remains on improving the visitor experience through close collaboration with public and private sector partners while expanding opportunities in a growing market.

Martinique has increasingly promoted its blend of French and Caribbean culture, culinary appeal, and natural attractions to stand out among regional rivals. The outcome of this year’s Seatrade meetings could help determine how much of the next wave of Caribbean cruise growth reaches the island.
